Copenhagen Airport is Northern Europe’s main traffic hub with direct flights from approximately 130 destinations all over the world, including 18 intercontinental, 89 European, 14 Nordic and 6 domestic routes. In recent years Copenhagen Airport has won numerous prizes for quality, design, customer satisfaction and efficiency.
The Airport is situated on the island of Amager, eight kilometres south-east of Copenhagen. The city centre can be reached within 12 minutes by Metro or train. This is by far the fastest transfer time from airport to city centre of any European capital city.
Copenhagen Airport is the preferred low cost carrier airport in Scandinavia offering close to 45 low cost routes.
...by road and train
Copenhagen is strategically located and well-connected to the rest of Europe, making domestic and international travel by car or train easy.
All major road networks of Europe connect to Copenhagen through bridges or by way of ferry services.
Copenhagen is linked to the rest of Europe by rail with frequent connections to major cities in Europe. The Central Station is located within walking distance of a large number of hotels. The Oresund Bridge allows easy access to Sweden and the travel time to Malmö, Sweden, is only 22 minutes.

...by public transport
Public transport in Copenhagen is comfortable, efficient and safe. Busses, two Metro lines, two harbour busses and the S-train network make travelling in Copenhagen easy.
Regional traffic makes it easy to reach all places in North Sealand.
Copenhagen’s Metro has been voted best in the world at the Metrorail Conference in 2010.
Trains and busses
Trains and busses are plentiful and run frequently to all parts of the country as well as in the city of Copenhagen. In addition to the traditional means of public transport, the city has two harbour busses. The harbour busses have specific routes and function just like ordinary busses. They serve the central part of Copenhagen harbour and make it simple to travel between the centre of Copenhagen and Christianshavn/Holmen/The Opera House.
With the Oeresund Bridge and tunnel connecting Denmark and Sweden, the Swedish city Malmö is only half an hour’s train ride away.
The Web Page Rejseplanen (“The travel plan”) is available in English and provides you with an efficient tool to plan your journey.
Travelling by bicycle
Denmark is a very bicycle friendly country and it is allowed to bring your bicycle in the trains. With a little enthusiasm it is possible to participate in WMOC using public transport and bicycles.
Bicycle rental is easy and the Copenhagen City Bikes can also be used. There is a portal for bicycle rental.
Driving your own car
We know: Many WMOC 2018 participants will bring their own car and of course this is possible. Bridges and ferry lines makes access by car easy and convenient.
While parking at the Sprint Final will be tricky, parking at the Event Center and all other arenas and model events will be smooth and simple. We advise you to buy the all week parking permit that will allow a smooth access to the parking areas.
Like in any other airport, Copenhagen Airport has a number of car rental companies.
Copenhagen also offers various car sharing arrangements with GoMore being the best known of these. But this is a rapidly developing business with companies like DriveNow and GreenMobility coming up. However, the picture will look differently in 2018. We will provide you status information, when the time is up.
Transport offer from organisers
The organisers offer bus transport from The Event Center to the following activities:
• Sprint Qualification
• Long Qualification 1 + 2
• Long Final
The Sprint Model Event is in direct vicinity to the Event Center and the banquet is held in the Event Center.
The organisers advice the participants to use public transport to get to the Sprint Final as the parking conditions are challenged in Central Copenhagen.
